Adidas continues to be a major player in the footwear industry, launching new models almost daily. One of the latest releases is the highly functional Hyperturf Gaiter Shoe. Techy outdoor design from adidas meets innovative closure solutions from FIDLOCK. Thanks to the conceptual support of the FIDLOCK Footwear team, a functional shoe was created that is fast, innovative, and practical to use due to the use of multiple FIDLOCK magnetic fasteners.
SNAP fasteners on the shoe – transformation for any weather
A sudden shower during the outdoor trip is no longer a problem thanks to the removable gaiter, which will keep your socks dry, even in heavy rain. Adidas has ideally applied the benefits of our SNAP fasteners and made transforming the shoe simple and intuitive. Each gaiter element features 3 stitched-in SNAP female S sewable and their SNAP male S rope counterparts to keep this protective feature in place. The male parts are attached to an elastic band which can be looped through dedicated hooks on the shoe itself. Since both SNAP components are installed on the gaiter, the shoe can be quickly converted while still on your feet - keeping them dry during every outdoor adventure.

For closing and tightening the shoe itself, adidas opted for a smart way of implementing the WINCH momentum - relieving the user from handling laces. The WINCH offers quick closing and adjustment of the shoe with just one hand. As already known from our FIDLOCK concept, magnetic forces automatically align and engage the two fastener halves. Tightening is possible with a simple turn of the handle. And in case you would ever want to get out of your Hyperturf Gaiter Shoe again, opening the WINCH is as easy and fun as closing it. Just pull away the handle allowing the lace to unspool and giving you a lot of room to get in or out.
