Herlitz relies on quality, creativity, ergonomics – and FIDLOCK fasteners for school bags
Following a 40 year-old-tradition, Herlitz provides high-quality and reliable products for daily use in offices and schools. They opt for a cleverly thought-out combination of quality, intuitive use, and great designs to brighten up our everyday life. For their school bags, this manifests in lightweight models with colourful and child-friendly patterns that adapt to children's growing bodies. Herlitz/ Pelikan even received the Innovation Prize for Ergonomics 2022 for the innovative ergonomic concept of the FiloLight and SoftLight models, which grow with the back of the user. Naturally, the used bag components also have to meet their high standards in quality, user-friendliness and ergonomics – such as the magnetic bag fastener by FIDLOCK.

The SNAP buckle flat as fastener for Herlitz school bags
Herlitz equipped the FiloLight, SoftLight and SoftFlex school bag models with a magnetic FIDLOCK fastener. They opted for the SNAP buckle flat 30, designed for attachment to 30 mm wide webbing. Thanks to the ladderlock on one side of the fastener, the webbing is adjustable to the filling volume of the school bags. Therefore, the bag can always be closed securely. A robust metal spring in the magnetic fastener provides a strong hold and allows for a flat and elegant design. However, the opening and closing functionality is what lets the SNAP buckle flat 30 particularly shine as a school bag fastener. It can be opened with one hand and thus offers quick, safe and intuitive use for children, which suits Herlitz’s high standards in ergonomics. Easy lateral sliding opens the buckle whilst it will automatically and almost magically lock into place when closing. As a result, opening and closing the bag isn’t just child’s play but also fun!
Trendy designs with matching bag fasteners
Herlitz also made great use of the SNAP buckle flat regarding aesthetics. Thanks to the flat design, it offers a large space for custom logos. The debossed Herlitz logo features a shiny surface in contrast to the matt material of the SNAP buckle flat 30. This nicely highlights the branding and creates an appealing and elegant look. Additionally, Herlitz uses customized colours, perfectly matching the fasteners with the different patterns on the school bags.
